Kiev Passenger Railway Station

Kiev Passenger Railway Station (Ukrainian: Kyiv-Pasazhyrs'kyi) is a complex of Kiev's Central Station and adjoining Southern Station, plus the adjacent Suburban Station, together serving more than 170,000 passengers per day (as of 2005). The station complex thus provides long-distance and international services, and short-distance service (elektrichka) for suburbs (including dacha areas), minor city stations, and nearby regions. The Kiev Metro Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line station Vokzalna is situated nearby, constituting the station's main intersection with city transport.

Kiev Metro (Subway) System

The Kiev Metro runs from 06:00 until 24:00. First trains leave at 05:50 from the terminus of the line, and last trains leave the city center at 00:20.

It's convenient, fast, inexpensive and reliable and has some of the deepest underground stations in the world. The Arsenalna station station is the deepest metro station in the world, at 107 meters (351 ft) deep, and the Universytet station has one of the longest escalators in the world at 87 meters (285 ft) long. The network is almost entirely underground although the river Dniper is crossed twice on a bridge. No trip to Kiev is complete without a ride on the Kiev Metro. A fare is 1.7 UAH or about $0.18 €.
